Do you offer a free meeting?

I do offer an entirely free and complimentary 30 minute consultation.

👉 If you’d like to schedule that meeting, click here.

And please do! I’d love to get to know you.

When do I have to commit and start paying you?

For Holistic Planning clients, you’ll have to commit to working with me and sign an Advisory Agreement after we hold the Exploration meeting, which is the first meeting in the Life Planning Process.

So the process would be: first, have a free 30 minute meeting. If you like what you hear, schedule the Exploration meeting. If that goes great, then you’ll sign a contract and the real work (and FUN!) begins.

Why does Holistic Planning require a 12 month commitment?

I get it - 12 months can feel like a really long time. A lot can happen between now and 12 months from now. And that’s sorta the point.

I’ve found that folks just need about that much time to really make positive changes that stick. Trying to do too much too quickly leads to burnout, frustration and overwhelm. Not a recipe for success.

And I’ve also seen that folks often start out of the gate really strong and everything is going great. And then after a few months, things start to evolve and change. And that can lead to more frustration and burnout and overwhelm.

I’ve found the engagements are most successful when I stick around and walk with you for a 12 month period. So we can figure out what to do when things don’t go exactly according to plan. I help you adjust, pivot - and perhaps most importantly treat yourself with understanding and compassion.

What happens after the 12 month commitment?

That's entirely up to you!

You may find that you would like to continue with in-depth guidance on an ongoing basis. Or you may decide you've learned enough and are comfortable managing your financial life yourself.

How long should I plan to work with you?

It’s entirely up to you. There is a 12 month commitment for Holistic Planning. After that, it’s your call.

It’s common for folks to work with me for a year or two and then decide they’d like to go it on their own. Which is totally fine!

Other times, especially if I’m managing your investments for you, the period of engagement can be longer than just a few years.

It’s all about what fits for you and your life.

Do you help with Investments?

Yes! A core part of what I do is help folks figure out how they should be investing their money.

Navigating the world of the stock market, mutual funds and ETF’s is confusing and overwhelming. But don’t fret, I’ll be your guide every step of the way, helping you align your money with your most important life goals.

And I also help folks figure out the right retirement plans to put in place... Roth IRA’s, SEP-IRA’s, 401(k)’s, Rollover IRA’s. We’ll get it all sorted so you can be confident that you’re doing the right things to set yourself up in your golden years!

What is investment management? And how does that pricing work?

Investment management refers to the service I offer where I manage your investments for you. You don’t have to worry about which funds to choose, how to open accounts much less how to actually move money around and make trades.

In contrast, investment advisory is simply me offering guidance on what investments to make. The actual implementation is then up to you.

Investment management services are offered as part of my Holistic Financial Planning services. But you don’t have to use them - you can manage your own investments and still be a very successful Holistic Planning client. It’s entirely up to you!

What about pricing?

The annual fee for Investment Management services is up to 1% of the investments I manage for you.

If I still haven’t explained this clearly enough, shoot me an email and ask away!

Do you help with retirement plans? (e.g. Roth IRA’s, SEP-IRA’s, 401(k)’s, Rollover IRA’s)

Yup! I sure do. Figuring out how to plan for retirement and what retirement plan to put in place to help you get there is a core piece of my service offering.

Do you help with bookkeeping and taxes?

Yes and no. 😬

I help you with big picture planning for your life and your business. And devising a sustainable and effective way to manage your bookkeeping and taxes is definitely a part of that. Helping you review and understand your tax return and your business financial books and accounting is often something I work on with clients.

And I do like to do some pretty deep tax analysis work. Yes, I DO actually enjoy it - I know that makes me a bit odd. 😬 But because I’m not a licensed tax professional, the final say on tax-related matters needs to come form someone who is a CPA or an EA (Enrolled Agent).

I do not, however, provide tax return preparation or bookkeeping services. Although I can refer you to some great accountants that do just that!

I need better reporting in my group practice. Can you help?

Yes and no. 😬

I help you with big picture planning for your life and your business. Devising a sustainable and effective way to report on and manage financial reporting for your group practice is often something I work on with clients.

Detailed reporting for larger group practices is important. And it’s often quite a bit of work. I’ve found that your bookkeeper or billing folks are probably the best ones to actually create and prepare these reports on an ongoing basis.

But I absolutely will work with you on thinking through what types of reports you might want to have, and then strategize on the best way to implement that reporting.

How often do I have to meet with you as a Holistic Planning client?

For my Holistic clients, the Life Planning process is the most meeting-intensive period. It consists of the initial 30 minute consultation and then three Life Planning meetings. But these aren’t heavy, let’s-look-at-numbers meetings. They’re energizing and visioning meetings that I think you’ll really enjoy and find inspiring.

After that Life Planning process, I offer the option of having a 60 minute meetings every month. Or two 30 minute meetings if that’s more appropriate. It depends what we’re working on and how I can best support you.

But in general, we’ll meet at least once every three months after the initial Life Planning process.

Can my (non-therapist) partner participate in the process?

Yes! 👍

In fact, if you are in a committed relationship, I'd prefer to meet with both of you.
